Location

HLL Hotel Lungolago Lecco stands at Lungolario Luigi Cadorna 20, on the Lecco branch of Lake Como. The stretch in front of the hotel was resurfaced and reopened in August 2025 with a wider promenade, new greenery and a cycle and footpath. Piazza XX Settembre and the old town are about 700 metres away, the railway station about 750 metres, and a bus to the station and other parts of town stops 50 metres from the hotel.

Getting there

The train is the easiest option: direct regional services from Milano Centrale reach Lecco in about 40 minutes, while from Milano Porta Garibaldi the S8 line via Monza and Carnate takes about an hour. From Bergamo the direct train takes around 40 minutes. The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the station, and there is a taxi rank outside.

From Orio al Serio, the Airport Bus runs to Bergamo station in about a quarter of an hour, and from there you continue by train. From Linate you reach Milano Centrale on metro lines M4 and M2, from Malpensa on the Malpensa Express, and change there for Lecco. By car, the SS36 leads up from Milan; on the lakefront, parking is in blue-zone bays and there are paid public car parks nearby.

What to see

Within walking distance are Piazza XX Settembre with the Palazzo delle Paure and the Torre Viscontea, the Basilica of San Nicolò with its 96-metre bell tower known as the Matitone, and Palazzo Belgiojoso, home to the civic museums and a planetarium. A little further on, the 14th-century Azzone Visconti Bridge is now a cycle and footpath.

Fans of Manzoni's The Betrothed will find Villa Manzoni, reopened in April 2026, the church of Don Abbondio in Olate and Pescarenico. Seasonal boats to Bellagio leave from the pier on Lungolario Cesare Battisti; Varenna is about 25 minutes away by train, while Monte Barro and the Resegone are the classic hiking destinations.
